The Legal Theft Project

The rules for the Legal Theft project are simple:

1) Write something
2) Give the first line of your piece to another person
3) Don’t show them the original piece until they’ve written their own, using the same first line
4) Laugh or stand in awe of how differently or similarly your creative minds work

My friend, Bek and I ran this project together for nine weeks (since, as you can see from the rules above, this would be difficult to do alone). Then we opened the project up to a larger band of thieves, including: Kate, Kathryn, Kels, and Kid.

At this point, Bek and I were beginning to be concerned we would have to change our names to begin with K – I was thinking Kacie, she was thinking Katka – and then we were saved by the addition of M.D. and, most recently, C.C.

Below you can see the fruits of our labor:

Rounds 1-9Rounds 10-19Rounds 20-29Rounds 30-39

Rounds 40-49Rounds 50-59Rounds 60-69Rounds 70-79
